URO GYNAECOLOGY
Uro-gynecology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence and dysfunction of the pelvic floor. The pelvic floor includes muscles, ligaments, and connective tissue that help to support the womb, vagina, bladder, and rectum. It can be damaged by a number of conditions such as pregnancy, childbirth, chronic disease, surgery, and repeated heavy weight lifting.
- VVF Repair :: Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) is an abnormal opening between the bladder and the vagina that results in continuous and unremitting urinary incontinence. The entity is one among the most distressing complications of gynecologic and obstetric procedures.
- TOT :: Transobturator tape (TOT) is a procedure for urinary stress incontinence and it is performed under general or spinal anesthesia. A small incision is made on the wall of the vagina and the permanent tape is introduced via the vagina to sit under the urethra. The needles used to place the tape are introduced through small incisions at both sides of your upper inner thigh. The tape used is a permanent mesh, which will not be dissolved in your body. Surgery for stress incontinence aims to give you more control over your bladder. It cannot always cure the problem completely.
- TVT:: Trans Vaginal Tape (TVT) is a surgical procedure to help control stress incontinence. It is also known as transvaginal tape or sling suspension surgery. Stress incontinence is urine leakage that happens when you laugh, cough, sneeze, lift things, or exercise. TVT sling surgery helps close your urethra and bladder neck preventing further leakage. The bladder neck connects to the urethra, which carries urine from the bladder to the outside.
